Master’s Programs in Chinese+Finance/+International Business/+Engineering and Project Management/+Journalism and Communication
Central University of Finance and Economics (hereafter CUFE), as one of China's key universities under the direct leadership of the Ministry of Education, enjoys the patronage of both the central and municipal governments, including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, and Beijing municipal government. It is listed in Project 211 and also among the first universities to enter Project 985 Innovation Platform, whose objective is to promote scientific research of high-priority areas in the fields' top institutions.
CUFE is selected into the Double First Class Initiative, a national project with the goal of fostering world standards in China's universities, whose applied economics is rated A+ by the Ministry of Education in the fourth round of national academic evaluation.
CUFE has 92 master's programs, which has 16 first-level disciplines of academic master’s programs such as public administration, law, sociology, and management science and engineering as well as 19 professional master's programs such as business administration, accounting, law, public administration, finance, and auditing, etc.
CUFE’s International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship is a scholarship program jointly established by Central University of Finance and Economics and MOE’s Center for Language Education and Cooperation (hereafter MOE’s Center) in 2019. The scholarship provides funding for four master programs: Chinese+Finance, Chinese+International Business, Chinese+Engineering and Project Management, and Chinese+Journalism and Communication. Offered in Chinese, the 2-year master’s scholarship program plans to admit 60 students in total in 2024.
Coverage
Full coverage on tuition fee, accommodation fee, living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance expenses.
Eligibility
1.Applicants with good academic performance and conduct.
2.Non-Chinese citizens with a bachelor degree or above in good physical and mental health, generally under 35 years old.
3.The requirements set by the Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC should be met for CUFE international graduate applicants.
Qualifications
1.Applicants shall have a valid bachelor’s degree (or expected to graduate before July 1, 2024).
2.Score 210 or above in HSK test report (Level 5).

Application Procedure
1.Log on to International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Website (http://cis.chinese.cn), choose Cooperative International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship.
2.Select recommending institution, select Chinese+Vocational Training (Master’s).
3.Select your desired major (Finance/International Business/Engineering and Project Management/Journalism and Communication).
4.Select Central University of Finance of Economics.
5.Sign in to CUFE International Student Service System (https://cufe.17gz.org/) and submit the online application.
List of Application Documents
1.CUFE Application form (automatically generated in the CUFE International Student Service System). Please note a scanned signature needs to be uploaded.
2.Application form for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship.
3.Ordinary passport page with personal information.
4.HSK-5 test report (within the two-year validity).
5.The bachelor’s degree or a certificate stating student status, expected graduation date, and school performance.
6.The bachelor’s academic transcripts.
7.Study Plan (about 800-1000 Chinese characters).
8.2 Recommendation letters (the recommender must be an associate professor or a scholar with a corresponding title or above).
9.The Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
10.The Non-Criminal Record (issued by the local police office).
11.The reference letter by the head of the Recommending Institution.
Admission Criteria
1.Be friendly to China, abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of the Host Institution.
2.Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 of HSK Test (Level 5) and be proficient in academic Chinese reading and writing.
3.Applicants shall pass CUFE’s document review and online interview with strong learning and research abilities.
4.Priority is given to applicants with a basic understanding in mathematics or who have completed relevant coursework in good grades at undergraduate level.
5.Priority is given to winners of various Chinese bridge competitions or applicants with recommendation letters from Confucius Institutes.
Important Reminders on Application Documents
All application documents must be in Chinese or English. Documents not in Chinese or English must be notarized and translated into Chinese or English. Application documents will NOT be returned regardless of admission status.
All documents submitted must be true, accurate, and complete. CUFE reserves the right to withdraw the admission notice or expel enrolled students otherwise.
Evaluation
Applicants who have passed academic document review will be shortlisted for online interviews. The interview time will be sent by e-mail. Therefore, the email address left in the application system must be the applicant’s personal email, authentic and permanently valid.
Admission
According to the interview results, CUFE should select the best candidates and report to the MOE’s Center, which will organize the expert review.
CUFE will officially release CIS final results after the expert review.
Review of Documents
After admission results are released, CUFE will conduct another round of document review. If violations are found, the university reserves the right to withdraw the admission notice and cancel the applicant's admission.
Registration
According to the rules and regulations of China’s Ministry of Education, CUFE requires that all international students (including scholarship students) purchase comprehensive group insurance in mainland China. Students should pay for their health insurance fees before the registration date.
Admitted Scholarship students must register during the time specified in the admission notice. Students who fail to register by the deadline without justifiable reasons will be regarded as giving up the admission. Registration time: early September 2024 (Please refer to the admission notice for the registration date).
Evaluation and Re-evaluation of Admission Qualifications
CUFE will evaluate and re-evaluate students’ admission qualifications upon and after registration. If admission notice, personal information, or other documents are found to be inaccurate during the evaluations or if fraud and other similar circumstances exist, the student will be disqualified and admission will be cancelled.
